I had a
birding trip with clients from Scotland,Van Beinum to Hanglip forest and
Blouberg Nature Reserve on Tuesday and Wednesday morning and the birding was
wonderful as always.Our base was one of the birder friendly lodge outside
Makhado(Louis Trichardt) Madi A Thavha Mountain Lodge.
I met
my client at 05:00 and we drove from Madi A Thavha Lodge to Hanglip picnic site
and on our way to the main road we saw several pairs of Fiery-Necked
Nightjars.Driving to the top of the Hanglip Forest we encountered some several
Steppe Buzzards,Verreaux’s Eagle,Forest Buzzard and one African Crowned Eagle.We
had some birding walking around the picnic site and we saw amongst
others;

The next day we spend morning
birding at Blouberg Nature Reserve in the western Soutpansberg and the birding
there was great and we saw a lot of birds.Birds amongst others
