This time I took out one of my clients from Entabeni Nature Guide
Training Lee Gutteridge principal and assessor FGASA and Ian Weerepas
also activily involved with Entabeni to the most birding hot spots in
the Soutpansberg and Venda.
Day one 30th December as always we started our Venda 4X4 to the most
less travelled route at Gundani Camp Site the only patch of Miombo
Woodland in South Africa and the highlights of the day amoungst others
were;
Pink-Throated Twinspot
Mottled Spinetail
Narina Trogon
Tambourine Dove
Lizard Buzzard
African Pygmy Kingfisher
Red-Capped Robin-Chat
Red-Headed Weaver
Pearl-Spotted Owlet
Retz's Helmet-Shrike
On Tuesday 1st December we drove to Roodewal Nature Reserve in the
Central Soutpansberg despite the heavy rain in the early morning and
the highlight of the trip were
Blue Spotted Wood-Dove
African Broadbill
Scaly Throated Honeyguide
Crested Guineafowl
Eastern Nicator
African Wood-Owl
